On May 21, the mission of the International Monetary Fund arrived in Ukraine to start its work on assessing the Ukrainian reforms that the government has pledged to carry out within the framework of the cooperation program.
It is noted that the mission of the IMF will be in Ukraine for 2 weeks. During this period, the fund’s representatives plan to hold a series of meetings with Ukrainian officials.
According to the results of the mission, they must make a decision on the readiness of Ukraine to receive a new tranche of USD 1.3 billion.
It should be noted that among the requirements of the IMF to Ukraine there were the equalization of gas prices for people with market prices, reforms in the banking sector, and reduction of the size of the state budget deficit. Also, these requirements were accompanied by the introduction of criminal liability for illegal enrichment, which the Constitutional Court found to be unconstitutional.
