The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, stated that the decree on dissolving the parliament is contrary to the current Constitution and it will be appealed to the Constitutional Court. He said this during an extraordinary meeting of parliament.
“Yesterday we had consultations with the head of the factions and the president of Ukraine Zelensky. About 5 times I posed a question to the president of Ukraine on what basis he plans to sign a decree on the parliament dissolution. I demanded a transcript and heard only one answer, that he believes that the coalition has not existed for two years,” he said.
The speaker added that the presidential decree cannot be stopped by the Verkhovna Rada.
