The US Senate Armed Services Committee approved a draft law on the country’s defense budget for 2020. The project authorized the allocation of $ 300 million to the Pentagon to provide security assistance to Ukraine. The Embassy of Ukraine in the United States reports.
It is noted that of the total $ 100 million should be allocated exclusively for lethal weapons. “According to the document, it is proposed to expand the US assistance in strengthening the defense capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by including it in the means of coastal defense and anti-ship missiles,” the statement said.
The US Defense Budget Act will come into force after it has been supported by the Senate, the House of Representatives and signed by the US president.
