Attorney General Yuriy Lutsenko has promised that he will resign after the new parliamentary assembly “will form the governing authorities.”

“I believe that my task together with law enforcement counterparts is to secure not only honest presidential but also fair parliamentary elections,” he said.

After the new parliament “forms the governing authorities,” Lutsenko plans to leave his post and go into politics. Early parliamentary elections in Ukraine will take place on July 21.
