The fourth Biennale of design and fine craft Révélations took place in Paris. Works of decorative-applied art were exhibited for collectors, gallerists, artists and ordinary visitors. This year works by 450 artists from 33 countries of the world were exhibited under the category Fine Craft. More than 40 thousand visitors attended the fair.
For the first time, works by Ukrainian artists were presented here supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in France. In particular were presented vytynankas by Darya Alioshkina, hurdy-gurdy by Hordii Starukh, woven carpets by Oksana Levchenia, leather products by Kostiantyn Kofta, wooden items by Inna Pedan, and ceramics by Yurii Musatov.
The Ukrainian stand grabbed the attention of the visitors for far away thanks to a skillful mixture of bright colors, typical for authentic items, national clothes, and pop-art elements that are quite symbolic for modern art.
Visitors were amazed by the works at the stand. They were asking about Ukraine – a land of fairy-tales and poetic legends, about how to create some artistic objects, and who those artists are.
