President Volodymyr Zelensky made changes to the decree of his predecessor, Petro Poroshenko, and returned the citizenship to the ex-governor of the Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili.
The decree is published on the website of the head of state: “To add to the decree of the President of Ukraine dated July 26, 2017, No. 196” On termination of citizenship of Ukraine Bondareva T., Korniychuk O.A., Koroteckiy L.O. and other persons “, by excluding provisions on Saakashvili Mikheil’s loss of Ukrainian citizenship,” the decree says.
The document states that, by his decree, Zelensky also allows to obtain Ukrainian citizenship for persons of state interest to the country.
