Former president of Georgia and former head of the Odesa Regional State Administration said that Odesa mayor Hennadii Trukhanov regularly sent “payoffs” to the Presidential Administration.
Such a statement was made by Mikheil Saakashvili during a live broadcast of the political talk show Pravo na Vladu on 1+1 TV channel. According to him, the mayor of Odessa sent money to the Presidential Administration, thus “laundering” funds.
“Money was sent back and forth in a suitcase, in cash, they always came to the Presidential Administration. So this is a great way to launder money. It is not necessary to tell that funds are deposited (it refers to the reform of decentralization – ed.). They are in Swiss or other banks, but not on the city’s deposit,” Saakashvili assured.
According to him, after the change of the leadership and the prosecutor’s office staff, the scheme, which he described, is updated in the information space and, obviously, will be investigated by the law-enforcers.
Recall that Hennadii Trukhanov is associated with a number of resonant investigations and accusations of corruption. In particular, it is about the so-called Krayan plant case, in which the mayor of Odesa is accused of embezzlement.
