Journalist Iuliia Mendel won the race for the post of the president’s press secretary. This is reported by theBabel with links to sources close to the president’s team.
Iuliia Mendel previously worked for ICTV, Espresso-TV and Inter. She wrote for Ukrainian Forbes and Politico.eu. For several years, a journalist collaborates with The New York Times.
According to Iryna Pobedonostseva, press secretary of “ZeTeam”, about four thousand applications were submitted to the competition. At the first stage, candidates’ compliance with the basic requirements was checked: proficiency in Ukrainian and English, literacy, experience in related professions, higher education. Most of the applicants have been screened out already at this stage.
After telephone interviews, about a hundred participants left. After the discussion, they chose 50 who were sent creative tasks.
