Several hundred protesters demanded to punish those responsible for the death of 5-year-old boy, reform the police and dismiss Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. This is reported by the correspondent of “Hromadske”.
The officers with shields surrounded the branch building, and the nationalists, among whom, in particular, the right-wing C14, began to throw stones and smoke grenades at them.
They also lit flares and exploded firecrackers. When someone came close, the police used pepper sprays.
The participants of the rally were joined by the new head of the Kyiv police Andriy Nebytov. When asked why investigative actions are not being carried out at the crime scene and it is not even blocked, he replied, “The criminal investigation is business of the State Bureau of Investigation, please contact them with this question”.
Recall, 5-year-old Kyrylo Tlyavov died at the hospital on June 3 after the police shot him in the head. On June 4, the court took into custody the suspects in the murder of the child – policemen Volodymyr Petrovets and Ivan Prykhodko. At first, they have been suspected of hooliganism which caused grievous bodily injuries (when the boy was still alive), but the Prosecutor’s Office re-qualified the suspicion to intentional murder. The investigation also checks the version that the son of a policeman could have fired.
