In Bila Tserkva and Uman, they cut off the centralized water supply because of pollution of the Ros River with chemicals. It is reported by the State Emergency Service.
“At 23:00 on June 9, the work of the Bila Tserkva pumping and filtration station, which provides Bila Tserkva (209,000 inhabitants) and Uman (84,000 inhabitants) with water, was stopped,” the operational report says.
As of 7:00 on June 10, the water in Uman is supplied from tanks, the water supply is sufficient for three days. In Bila Tserkva they have one day supply, the residents take water from the wells or from the reservoirs that are brought to the city.
People are recommended to refrain from swimming, catching fish and feeding livestock next to the Ros River.
Recall that in the village of Zbarzhevka, Pohrebishchensky district, Vinnytsia region, during transportation of 1 ton of the Nurali B insecticide, the car overturned, causing the chemicals leak into the Ros River.
