President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed for the release Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko. This was announced at a briefing by deputy head of Presidential Administration Ruslan Ryaboshapka.
“An appeal was filed to the Prosecutor General’s Office,” he said.
He noted that, despite changes to the Law “On Prosecutor’s Office”, which stated that the Prosecutor General should not have degree in law, other provisions of the law require the Prosecutor General to have legal degree and relevant experience in the legal field.
“Lutsenko does not have such experience and the president makes a statement to dismiss him from office,” said Ryaboshapka.
