President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed former Minister of Economy and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavičius a chairman of the Supervisory Board of the state military concern Ukroboronprom. The corresponding decree appeared on the website of the Presidential Administration.
“To appoint Aivaras Abromavičius as a member of the Supervisory Board of the State Concern Ukroboronprom (by consent),” the presidential decree of June 12, 2019 says.
In addition, Zelensky dismissed two members of the Supervisory Board of the concern Yaroskav Skalko and Ihor Cherkasky for the expiration of their term of office.
Previously, Abromavičius in a conversation with The Hromadske explained that he personally arranged Zelensky’s meeting with international business.
We remind that Aivaras Abromavičius was Minister of Economy and Trade of Ukraine in 2014-2016 in Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Government. During his cadence, there was launched Prozorro, a system of electronic purchases in Ukraine, as well as a reform of corporate governance in state-owned companies.
