Head of the Central Election Commission Tetiana Slipachuk declares that the Constitutional Court can’t stop the election by its decision, it may only determine the constitutionality of the presidential decree on dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada. She said this in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.

“The Constitutional Court can’t stop the election by its decision, it can simply determine the constitutionality of the decree, nothing else,” said Slipachuk.

At the same time, she could not clearly answer what the CEC would do if the Constitutional Court recognizes the President’s decree to dissolve the Council as unconstitutional.
