The General Prosecutor’s Office asks the court to arrest the property of the third president of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko. This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to the Chief of the Special Investigations Serhiy Gorbatyuk.
“This is the duty of the investigator. There are no options: if the charge involves confiscation, then the investigator is obligated to take measures to arrest the property. Not only that is covered by the number of damages,” Gorbatyuk explained.
He confirmed that it is a question of accusing Yushchenko of squandering 540 million hryvnias. Gorbatyuk clarified that the petition was filed by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, noting that the meeting, in this case, is not yet scheduled.
