The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine informed about the resume of criminal proceedings against Yuriy Ivanyushchenko (known as “Yura Yenakiivsky”), an ex-deputy from the “Party of Regions”, and the business partner of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
As the press secretary of the Prosecutor General Larysa Sargan said on Facebook, on July 3, the Deputy Prosecutor General resumed the case against Ivanyushchenko, which was closed before by the prosecutor of the Odesa region. According to Sargan, the pre-trial investigation of the case continues, a letter was sent to the Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine on the resumption of the search for Ivanyushchenko.
Recall that on July 2, the Ukrainska Pravda reported that Yanukovych’s ex-partner was suspended from the search after the prosecutor’s office of the Odesa region closed the case against him.
Ivanyushchenko, also known as Yura Yenakiivsky, fled from Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity. He was charged with the appropriation and expropriation of property, illegal enrichment, complicity in the crimes hence he was put on the wanted list
In 2017, the EU abolished sanctions against Ivanyushchenko due to the closure of criminal proceedings against him in Ukraine.
