The military parade on Independence Day of Ukraine won’t take place on August 24, and the money that was to be spent on the parade will be handed over to the military. This is about 300 million hryvnias. This was announced by the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, there will be a “new format” of celebrating.

“I want to share with you our new idea. Usually, on Independence Day we have the military parade. Pompous and expensive. It seems to me that this year it’s better to allocate this money to our heroes, our soldiers. We took this decision and allocated 300 million hryvnias for bonuses. These are regular soldiers, sergeants, officers, all. And it’s imperative for the military to carry out tasks in the area of the operation of the United Force,” the president said in a video message.

At the same time, Zelensky assured that the celebration of Independence Day will take place. But there will be a “new format”.
