The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has given the Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova permission to search for the funds for a military parade.
Volodymyr Groysman stated that he supported the decision of the president to allocate UAH 300 million for the payment of bonuses to servicemen.
“But at the same time, I think we should hold a military parade on August 24. This parade should be a parade of pride, valour, the dignity of our Ukrainian people and the state. And I think that during this parade, millions of Ukrainians will be able to show their respect for our heroes,” Groysman said.
He noted that the parade won’t be financed at the expense of social benefits but at the expense of other sources. He also noted that he has “ideas about the sources of funding for the parade.”
After the Ministry of Finance analyzes, the government will make proposals for financing the parade to President Volodymyr Zelensky, who must make a final decision.
Recall that on July 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the funds provided for the military parade on August 24 will be allocated to the servicemen, and the parade itself won’t be held.
