The deputies of the Lviv city council supported a petition on defrosting the construction project of the subway in the city. This is reported by Zaxid.net.

It is noted that now the Lviv Department of Housing and Infrastructure should develop a roadmap for solving this issue.

The author of the petition drew attention to the fact that in 10-15 years, several surrounding neighborhoods will join Lviv, and in order to prevent a transport collapse, the city needs a subway, underground or surface.

The media reminds that conversations about the subway in Lviv has been present since Soviet times. After an unsuccessful attempt in the mid-’80s to build an underground tram line, which damaged the historic buildings, this idea was rejected.
