The Lefortovo Court of Moscow extended the arrest for three months to the first and second groups of Ukrainian sailors illegally detained near the Kerch Strait.
First, the decision on extended arrest of the first group of Ukrainians was made: a representative of the SBU, Andrii Drach, and five sailors Mykhaylo Vlasyuk, Bohdan Holovash, Denys Hrytsenko, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, and Serhii Popov.
The court has satisfied the petition of investigators from the Russian FSB. Hearings were held in closed mode. Relatives of prisoners of war came to the court. Sailors did not answer questions of judges that did not relate to their names, date of birth and rank. Attorneys of Ukrainians insisted that sailors are prisoners of war, and also said they would attach to the materials of the decision of the International Tribunal – a demand for the immediate release of Ukrainian sailors and ships.
Subsequently, it became known about the extended arrest of a representative of the SBU Vasyl Soroka and six other Ukrainian sailors: Andrii Artemenko, Volodymyr Varymez, Vladyslav Kostyshyn, Oleh Melnychuk, Serhii Chulyba, and Viktor Bespalchenko.
Recall, the Moscow court considers the extension of the terms of detention in four groups. So today, the fate of two other groups of Ukrainian prisoners of war will be resolved.
