The US Senate passed a resolution devoted to the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine. It condemns Russia’s actions and expresses its full support for our country. This is said in a statement by the press service of the Ukrainian embassy in the United States.

In particular, the resolution reads that the US Senate condemns Russian aggression against Ukraine and urges  international partners to keep sanctions against the Russian Federation. In addition, the Senate characterized the North Stream 2 gas pipeline as a significant threat to Europe’s security and stressed that the project was aimed at undermining Ukraine’s economic stability and increasing its vulnerability to further Russian military interventions.

At the same time, dozens of senators from the Republican and Democratic parties have expressed support for all Ukrainian political prisoners who are held in the Russian Federation and territories under its control on the basis of false accusations. They condemn Russian aggression in the Kerch Strait and do not recognize the annexation of the Crimea.

In addition, the Senate praised the creation of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine as an important milestone in building Ukraine’s own future, free from Russian influence.

Senators also congratulated Ukrainians on the successful free and fair elections of the President of Ukraine and the inauguration of Volodymyr Zelensky as the head of state.
