Russia is examining the circumstances of Ukraine’s detention of a Russian tanker NEYMA, which blocked Ukrainian warships in the Kerch Strait for “taking adequate measures”. This is stated in the comments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia emphasizes: if it is about capturing Russians hostage, consequences will not be long in coming.
“Let’s find out the circumstances of the event to take adequate measures. If it is about capturing Russians hostage, it will qualify as a flagrant violation of international law and the consequences will be forthcoming.”
Meanwhile, the SSU is preparing a petition for the arrest of the ship. The tanker is undergoing investigative actions. All members of the judiciary were questioned. At the same time, the Security Service did not report how many crew members were onboard the tanker and what would happen next.
