The European Union calls on the Kremlin to immediately release political prisoner Pavlo Hryb. This is stated in a statement by the spokeswoman of the European External Relations Service Maya Kosienchic regarding the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to uphold the verdict of the Ukrainian.
“Since then, he has been illegally detained in Russia without any substantiated allegations. The European Union reiterates its expectation that Pavlo Hryb was immediately released,” the statement said.
The EU also recalled that Hryb suffered from a very serious disease that could become dangerous at any moment.
“However, in violation of the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights, Ukrainian doctors were not allowed to examine him. We expect that he will be provided with immediate access to medical treatment without delay,” the statement said.
