Oleksandr Danylyuk, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, initiated the reduction of the number of ministries. In particular, he proposes to unite the Ministry of Social Policy with the Ministry of Health.
“We have a personnel famine in the country. If we even have one or two weak ministers, it will simply pull the entire government down. Therefore, a maximum of 12-13 ministers is what I see,” Danyliuk said.
He recalled that he previously worked as a Finance Minister before he was dismissed after a scandal with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. So, while he was working in the government, Danylyuk advocated the merger of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
“It is possible to consider the merger of the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Health. Because in the end, healthcare is also a certain social function. There should be a single policy,” Danylyuk said.
