Arrested Crimean Tatar activist Edem Bekirov is forced to testify against the head of the Majlis of Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov, leader of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev and Crimean Tatar businessman Lenur Islyamov. The political prisoner is forced to accuse them of preparing a terrorist attack in Crimea.
“The situation there is very simple. They tell him ‘Confirm that you were used by Refat Chubarov, Mustafa Dzhemilev, Lenur Islamov, that they were preparing a terrorist act in the Crimea, and you will be fine,” said the head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatars, Refat Chubarov.
According to him, Bekirov, having a disability of the first group, is given an ultimatum, the price of which is human life. Chubarov also stressed that Russia does not comply with any recommendations of the European Court of Human Rights on Bekirov’s health, and his condition is constantly deteriorating.
As the lawyer of the political prisoner reported on Tuesday, his condition “leaves much to be desired” and can be described as “stably critical”. According to him, Bekirov has declared the intention to start a hunger strike.
