The Security Service of Ukraine has expelled a “Russian spy” from Ukraine who worked under the diplomatic cover of the Consulate General of Russia in Lviv. The man received classified information from a military pensioner recruited by Russia.
“At the request of the Russian curators, he collected information about political and public figures, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, special and law enforcement agencies, foreign military instructors in the western region of the state. The secret service staff has documented that the man passed the collected data to the Russian intelligence officer who “worked” under the diplomatic cover of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Lviv,” reported the SSU.
According to the report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine declared the spy diplomat “a persona non grata” for activities incompatible with the status of consular officer. He has already left the territory of Ukraine.
