Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has called for the adoption of a new law about the capital of Ukraine that could balance the positions of Kyiv mayor and hold public services.
“Ukraine needs a new law on the capital, on the city of Kyiv, where it will be clearly stated what is local government and how the full powers of the mayor look like on the one hand, and on the other hand, it should fully reflect the powers of the state power. This balance must be ensured by the new capital law.
For some reason, the previous Parliament did not pass such a law. I think it was too politicized. I hope the law will be created by the new Parliament and government. And then it will be implemented,” the Prime Minister added.
We will remind, the Cabinet of Ministers refused to dismiss Klytschko from the post of the head of the Kyiv city state administration, leaving it to the next government.
