Opposition Platform – Party For Life does not intend to nominate President Viktor Medvedchuk’s godfather to parliament. This was stated by a member of the preparatory deputy group Vadim Rabinovych.
“Medvedchuk will not nominate his candidate, and our party will not nominate him for the simple reason that he was already a vice-speaker and the first vice-speaker, and today he will focus on party work,” Rabinovych said.
Responding to questions on which committees the Opposition Platform – For Life would claim, Rabinovych said: “Usually, in every country in the world, the opposition has a budget committee, a regulatory committee, and a committee on freedom of speech.”
At the same time, Oleksandr Puzanov, a newly elected MP from the Opposition Platform – For Life stated that his party would insist on obtaining the post of deputy speaker and overseeing the committees on freedom of expression and regulation.
Puzanov also noted that the opposition would insist on the establishment of a committee “to comprehensively address the problems of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.”
