Poland’s proposal to appoint the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Ukraine has not been approved by the organization as reported Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Chaputowicz.
The Polish minister believes that new tools are needed in finding a solution that would stop the war in Ukraine.
“We have previously suggested using some of the other tools available. Yes, it would be possible to appoint a Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General to keep track of what is happening in the Donbas, Ukraine. There are also such special representatives in other regions. Why not have such a person in Ukraine? This idea… was not accepted, it was not approved ” the minister emphasized.
Earlier, Chaputowicz declared Poland’s support for the President’s proposal to expand the Norman format and to involve the United States and Great Britain in negotiations.
