President Volodymyr Zelensky called the fire in an Odesa hotel criminal negligence and promised that he would personally ensure that the owner of the building is punished.
“Not only the immediate perpetrators of the fire will respond. Vadym Chorny, the owner of the so-called hotel, will answer. Personally, I will make sure that the punishment meets the requirements of the law and the requirements of justice.”
Zelensky noted that eight human lives were not taken by war or shelling but by “criminal negligence and ignoring elementary standards of fire safety.”
