President Zelensky finally commented on Russia’s possible return to the G8. The President stressed that since March 2014, after the suspension of Russia’s participation in the G8, nothing has changed.
“The Ukrainian Crimea is still occupied, the Ukrainian Donbas still suffers from war. The return of the occupied Crimea, the cessation of hostilities in the Donbas and the release of more than 100 political prisoners and Ukrainian sailors held by the Kremlin will be a real serious signal to the world that Russia is ready to reclaim its place in the high diplomatic agenda,” he said.
He added that he is grateful to the countries that “consistently support Ukraine in maintaining our territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
