Celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day started with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelensky in the centre of Kyiv. Solemn events involving the leadership of the state and the city were held on Independence Square.
During the Independence Day festivities, the national anthem of Ukraine was performed in an unusual manner. Several orchestras, pianists, folk choir, opera singers and stars of the show business all sang and played “Ukraine has not died yet…”. The anthem of Ukraine in the centre of Kyiv was solemnly performed by the Armed Forces Orchestra, State Emergency Service, the Border Guard Military Orchestra, the National Police and National Guard Orchestra of Ukraine, the National Philharmonic Orchestra. And also, the performance was joined by a representative of Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision-2018 Daria Krasnovetska, pianist Myroslav Skoryk, singers of the Kyiv Philharmonic, young Ukrainian hip-hop artist Alina Pash, Tina Karol and Ukrainians.
After that, President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the Ukrainians on the holiday and gave awards to the military, volunteers, doctors, teachers for fruitful work.
It should be noted that the directors of the event were clipmaker Alan Badoyev and choreographer Olena Kolyadenko. As it became known, they will not receive money from the state budget for their work.
