The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko wrote a resignation letter addressed to President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by his press secretary Larysa Sargan.
“I request to be dismissed from the post of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine at my own request on the basis of paragraph 1 of part 1 of Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Prosecutor’s Office’,” Lutsenko quoted.
Lutsenko has headed the Prosecutor General’s Office since May 2016. Earlier, he promised to resign after the parliamentary elections. On June 11, it became known that Zelensky had filed a motion to dismiss the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko.
