The Verkhovna Rada has decided to submit to the Constitutional Court a draft law amending the Constitution which gives the President the power to appoint heads of anticorruption bodies, independent regulators and create such regulation bodies. 282 deputies voted in favor of the decision.

The corresponding bill was introduced to the Council by President Volodymyr Zelensky. It eliminates the legal conflict that makes it unconstitutional for the existence of independent regulators in Ukraine, such as the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NCSREU) and anti-corruption bodies, in particular NABU and the State Bureau of Investigation.
